Observation
The provider reported that a child with special needs, that she had not had medication training from the parents. When asked how to give an inhaler and epi pen medication to the child or when to give the medication, the provider did not respond with a clear answer (when to give, how to give, what to do after giving the medication). 3 medications were present for the same child and only one had signed consent form and medication directions from the parent Tylenol for an ear infection from 2022, medication had expired. 2 other medications, an inhaler and epi pen, had no written plan of how to give the medication or a signed consent form from the parents for permission to give the medication. The epi pen expired in December of 2023. EPI pen and an inhaler, did not have a medication authorization form at all, no guidance on how or when to give the medication, why to give the medication, or possible side effects after giving the medication.
